The “Great March of Return” was a largely non-violent mass event that took place along the so-called ‘separation fence’, with the intention of highlighting General Assembly Resolution 1941 and the ongoing humanitarian emergency in the Gaza Strip. During weekly demonstrations near the fence, Gazans took part in poetry readings, seminars, lectures and cultural and sporting activities.
